WORKSHOPS

My teaching departs from the premise that your own experience—whether you’ve been writing for decades or are coming to the page for the first time—is a legitimate, worthwhile place to begin.

I have led creative writing workshops in many places, including Boston University, the UNIT/PITT Society for Art and Critical Awareness, Enabling Arts, and the Vancouver Public Library.

I would be delighted to visit your organization, classroom, and writing group, and can facilitate in both English and French.

EDITING & MENTORSHIP

I have had the pleasure of working with poets and translators at all stages of their process.

I offer editorial support with pieces of writing, chapbooks, and full-length manuscripts, as well as ongoing mentorships with writers looking to deepen or revitalize their relationship to the page.

My services can be tailored to your individual needs; to inquire about your particular project or area of interest, please get in touch.

“I believe in solitude broken like bread by poetry.” — Anne Hébert

If you’re looking to invite greater depth and connection into your next event, consider hiring me to write spontaneous poems for your guests.

I have written spontaneous poems in parks, along sidewalks, and at venues such as the Rotary Club and Enabling Arts.

“Working with Lauren brought my manuscript to the next level. Thanks to her exceptional skills as an editor, poet, and educator, she was able to offer brilliant structural and line edits that aligned perfectly with my vision. I was actually amazed by how Lauren was able to capture the essence of my work. I ended up accepting virtually all of her editorial suggestions, which is extremely rare. Lauren took her time with areas that needed more attention, making for an enjoyable and creatively stimulating process. I couldn’t recommend a better editor to work with!” — Mezi, poet
